News and Jabber

https://www.sfchronicle.com/news/article/Margaret-Gibson-named-poet-laureate-for-state-of-13739319.php. Who knew? And I found the information in The San Fran Cisco Chronicle. And here is a link to the story in the Hartford Courant: https://www.courant.com/ctnow/arts-theater/hc-ctnow-ct-poet-laureate-margaret-gibson-20190403-rsyou2xrsjaqjkd6lzpkjpd7ma-story.html

And here, a link to an Atlantic Magazine article about W.S. Merwin, who died recently. https://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2019/03/ws-merwins-poetry-finds-meaning-emptiness/585412/. He was 91 and has long been one of our more interesting and accomplished poets.

The Current Assignment

The current assignment was not assignment. Who did it?

The Next Assignment

The next assignment is to write a poem in which each line or sentence ends with a verb. I've tried this with limited success. Do the best you can and see how it affects your writing.

The Next Meeting

The next meeting is April 18, 2019.
